Steve Graham, Director Australasia
Steve is an experienced professional software & technology consultant who has a diverse background spanning multiple industries including Manufacturing, Airline & Travel, Financial Services, Life Sciences, Telecommunications and more recently Healthcare. He’s worked in the UK, USA, France, New Zealand and Australia. A particular strength is analysing and solving complex business problem with an innovative, pragmatic and common sense approach, rather than over engineering for the sake of it.
Early in his career, he co-founded a startup, designing and building a suite of software applications for the Insurance and Financial Services industry. The main product was later sold to an Insurance company.
As a data & solution architect, developer and technical project manager, Steve has worked with major organisations such as Computer Sciences Corp, Employer’s Reinsurance, Cisco Systems, Vodafone, Orange UK, Air New Zealand and Queensland Health. At Cisco he and his team received an award for the first EMEA designed & built solution. He also analysed Sales & Distribution systems throughout EMEA and the proposed solution led to a global implementation. He was an early adopter of Dan Linstedt’s Data Vault Data Warehousing approach on how to integrate data from diverse systems and is certified in Data Vault 2.
Steve’s current and recent cloud data projects include using dbt, Azure Synapse and Databricks, with SQL and Python. He’s involved in designing. building and supporting the Patient Referrals data warehouse (SRRAC) across Queensland.
Having a background in AI from his student days and a sustained interest over the past decade, he’s also collaborating with a former colleague who’s now an Assistance Professor of AI at Doha University on a decision support system called Referral AI. This AI is currently undergoing production trials and aims to reduce administrative burden for clinicians, so they have more time for patient care. A paper on this project was recently published in Frontiers Journal.
Out of the office, he enjoys travelling, likes a game of golf, loves rock music and tragically supports his home town team Middlesbrough FC in their enduring struggles.
